The Green AI for Sustainable Shipping (GASS) project is pleased to announce Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (OSG) joins as a supporting partner. OSG, based in Tampa, Florida, is the leading U.S. flag maritime provider of liquid bulk energy transportation services, specializing in safe and reliable delivery of crude oil and refined petroleum products across the United States and globally.
As part of this collaboration, OSG will share noon-report data from multiple vessels, supporting the GASS project efforts to validate and advance AI-driven sustainability analytics across diverse tank vessel types, oceans, and operating conditions.
“As a U.S.-flag operator, OSG has long invested in technologies and operational measures that improve efficiency and reduce emissions,” said Eric Schreiber, VP Engineering at Aptamus Carbon Solutions, an OSG affiliate company. “By contributing operational and performance data, we aim to accelerate the development of practical digital tools that support cleaner, more efficient maritime operations, which results in lower fuel costs, reduced emissions, and continues OSG’s leadership among U.S. flag carriers in implementing sustainability strategies.”

“OSG’s scale, operational discipline, and ongoing commitment to emissions reduction distinguish them within the Jones Act tanker sector,” said Bjørn Åge Hjøllo, Chief Sustainable Officer at NAVTOR, representing the GASS project. “Their participation meaningfully enhances our ability to translate real-world vessel performance into actionable software solutions for sustainable shipping.”
